UM Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) of UM is a practical platform for the research, innovation and transformation system of UM, and has been approved as a national-level innovation and entrepreneurship space. CIE is dedicated to assisting UM faculty, students, alumni, and staff to transform their innovative ideas with commercial potential into entrepreneurial practices. It also leverages UM’s research and industry support platform to commercialize their research achievements.
CIE provides support services such as office space, training and guidance, publicity and promotion, legal, financial and tax and resource connections, etc. Applications for residency can be submitted to CIE in January and August each year. Since 2017, over 40 startups from UM students, alumni and faculty have been selected to join CIE in various areas of medical technology, information and communication technology, new materials, education and tourism.
