Company Profile
UMTEC Limited was established in 2006 and is a public capital enterprise owned by the University of Macau (UM). It is dedicated to promote and commercialize UM's research achievements, facilitate research & development collaboration opportunities with the industry, and contribute to the development of a knowledge-based economy in Macau and the Greater Bay Area.
Our business areas encompass a wide range of activities, including but not limited to research, technology innovation, consulting and testing, technical advising, technology transfer and licensing, and co-organizing academic activities, and etc. We serve as a bridge between UM and the industry, actively engaging with both local and non-local companies to explore opportunities for collaboration, technology transfer and licensing, so as to enhance the effectiveness of research translation and promote the further development of industry-academia-research in Macau. On behalf of UM, we execute patent licensing, hold shares of the startups incubated by UM's Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship on behalf of UM, and assist establishing research institutions in the mainland China for cross-border industry-academia-research collaborations.

Our vision is to become one of the key players in the field of technology transfer and industry-university collaboration by actively engaging with the industry for collaboration opportunities through leveraging UM's research achievements and talent resources in the Greater Bay Area, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of technology and innovation in Macau.
